An Israeli airstrike in western Rafah has reportedly killed at least 45 people and injured dozens more – the Israeli military says its aircraft struck a “Hamas compound”.
Military analyst Sean Bell says under the Geneva Convention both sides have a “legal responsibility to protect all the civilian population, even if those civilians are operating close to a legitimate military target”.
